Land reforms redistributed land to farmers, promoting collective farming and increasing agricultural productivity. Industrial reforms, however, led to the creation of a national industry, which gave work to thousands of people and helped modernize the country. On the social front, the socialist period was characterized by a focus on education and healthcare, with the aim of creating an egalitarian society in which everyone had access to basic services.
